Whether you’re looking for a sugar high or you want to get your socks spooked right off, these are the best trick-or-treating events and family-friendly Halloween celebrations around Northern Colorado.

Where to Trick-or-Treat in Northern Colorado 

If you’re in search of a safe, family-friendly trick-or-treating experience this Halloween, you’re in luck! Northern Colorado communities are all about having fun during the spooky season, so dress the kids up and take them to a local trunk-or-treat event or enjoy annual traditions such as FoCo’s Tiny Tot Halloween!

2nd Annual Trunk-or-Treat

Where? 2637 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins
When? October 18th

2025 marks the 2nd Annual Trunk-or-Treating event at the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center. Enjoy a paw-some good time with friends and family as you meet animal ambassadors, play games and claw your way to victory. There will be opportunities to help support the mission of protecting wildlife and the places they call home. Nothing says Halloween fun quite like candy and advocating for rescue, rehabilitation, and education to help our animal friends! Entry to the trunk-or-treating portion of the event is free, though there will also be upgrades and additional activities available for a fee. Live animal meet & greets, for instance, are priced at $25 per person (or $20 if you purchase in advance) and carnival-style games and activities will be priced at $1 per token or $25 for unlimited plays! 

Bug-A-Boo 

Where? 6252 West 104th Avenue, Westminster 
When? October 18th & 19th, 25th & 26th & 31st

The Butterfly Pavilion once again invites families to an inclusive, indoor trick-or-treating event for little ones. Bug-A-Boo is returning this October for a stress-free experience open to children of all ages. Costumes are encouraged during the last two weekends in October any time during regular visiting hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) as children explore the magic of the invertebrate world. There will be candy and toy stations throughout the zoo, so you’re sure to leave with some exciting treats. Whether you want to dress up as your favorite arachnid or a superhero, it’s all fun and games at Bug-A-Boo! If you’re interested in participating in the costume contest, snap a photo at the Butterfly Pavilion and submit your entry via the online form found at the bottom of this page. The team at the pavilion will judge the submissions and award thrilling prizes to the winners based on three costume categories! Want to spice up the Halloween festivities? Bug-A-Boo After Dark will be held on October 31st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

3rd Annual Markley Motors Trunk or Treat

Where? 3401 South College Avenue, Fort Collins 
When? October 24th

Markley Motors is excited to announce their third annual trunk or treat event on the Friday before Halloween. From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, enjoy free admission to this festive celebration at a local NoCo dealership. Candy, prizes and more will be offered onsite and costumes are highly encouraged. After all, who doesn’t want to dress up as a spooky ghost or as their favorite action movie hero on Halloween? Bring your family, friends and even dog to this awesome event and see what sweet treats await you!

Treatsylvania

Where? 600 North Sherwood Street, Fort Collins 
When? October 24th-26th

Looking for a non-spooky family-friendly option this Halloween? Check out Treatsylvania in Fort Collins, where the smallest ghosts can take a relaxed stroll through the barn and down “Trick-or-Treat Street” to collect candy. There’s nothing but gourd times for all to be had at The Farm at Lee Martinez Park this Halloween season! Hours for this event run from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on October 24th and 25th and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 26th. Tickets are priced at $9 and are available on a first come, first served basis. Participating children ages 10 years and under must be ticketed, while older children and parents/guardians can attend without a ticket. 

20th Annual Halloween Hullabaloo 

Where? 5704 McWhinney Boulevard, Loveland 
When? October 25th

Centerra is excited to announce the 20th anniversary of their Halloween Hullabaloo event! This not-so-spooky street event is sure to be a hit amongst area families. Enjoy a jam-packed afternoon of fun at this free community tradition from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This year’s event is sure to be bigger and better than ever in celebration of two decades of “fang-tastic” Halloween festivities. Events and activities at this year’s milestone Hullabaloo include carnival games, live music and entertainment throughout the afternoon, pumpkin bowling, face painting, and an array of hands-on activities for kids and kids-at-heart alike. There will also be complimentary candy and treats, courtesy of the Centerra Engagement Assembly while supplies last. Don’t forget to snap a selfie at the spooky selfie station to capture your Halloween costume looks!

2025 Halloween on the Promenade

Where? 5971 Sky Pond Drive, Loveland 
When? October 26th

Halloween on the Promenade in Loveland is a great family-friendly option this Halloween season, offering memorable activities and photo-worthy moments. There will be safe trick-or-treating at participating stores at the Promenade Shops at Centerra Mall, giving kiddos the opportunity to show off their costumes while enjoying a relaxed environment. Kids will receive a trick-or-treating bag that can be used as they visit vendor booths and stores and there will also be free pumpkins for children provided by The Bartels Farm. Bags and pumpkins are available while supplies last, so arrive on time to make sure you grab yours! Additional activities include face painting, balloon artists, a giant bubble machine, a live DJ, and even a special appearance from the NoCo Ghostbusters! This 2025 Halloween event will also be participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project, with colored pumpkins placed at stores and booths that are offering allergen-free items for trick-or-treaters.

Safe Halloween with the Optimist Club of Windsor 

Where? 250 North 11th Street, Windsor 
When? October 31st

Every year, the Optimist Club of Windsor hosts a Safe Halloween event for kiddos and their families at the Community Recreation Center. This event is designed to provide a safe, family-friendly alternative event in partnership with the Windsor Police Department. Show off your spookiest (or most adorable) costume and enjoy this community get-together from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM this Halloween. The event is typically geared towards children ages 12 and under and will include fun games for all, as well as officers handing out candy. After all, what’s Halloween without your favorite treats? Costumes are encouraged but not necessary and admission is free. No registration is required for this event.

Tiny Tot Halloween

Where? Downtown Fort Collins 
When? October 31st

Tiny Tot Halloween is an annual family-friendly tradition in Downtown Fort Collins. Dust off those plastic pumpkin candy totes and hit the town with the little ones in tow this Halloween. Don your best costumes and enjoy a trick-or-treating extravaganza that you won’t soon forget. The event is scheduled to run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, so no late night necessary! The morning will be jam-packed with fright-free fun, photo opportunities, and plenty of candy to go around. Approximately 120 businesses are set to participate, meaning lots of sweet treats are waiting just around the corner. Preschool and kindergarten aged kids and their parents and guardians will have a blast showing off their costumes, collecting sweets and getting to bed on time this Halloween! 2025 participating businesses include all of your favorites, so stay tuned for an updated list here

Family-Friendly Halloween Events in Northern Colorado

The fun doesn’t have to stop at trick-or-treating! While Halloween is notorious for sugar crashes and candy-fueled late nights, there are also plenty of family-friendly activities leading up to the ghoulish holiday, as well as events, activities and parties that welcome little ones dressed in their spookiest attire with open arms!

Halloween Farm Tours @ Morning Fresh Dairy

Where? 5821 West County Road 54E, Bellvue
When? October 16th-November 2nd

Halloween Tours at Morning Fresh Dairy are a can’t-miss this month! Your $12 tour ticket includes a knowledgeable Halloween-inspired tour of the farm, where families are sure to have a spook-tastic good time. The farm is family-owned and operated, meaning they know a thing or two about getting the little ones involved in the process. Throughout the tour, there will be opportunities to collect treats to place in your special Morning Fresh Dairy goodie bag. Tour attendees will have the chance to explore the Pleasant Valley Schoolhouse, see the cows being milked in the Dairy-Go-Round, visit the milk processing and bottling plant, and even meet a few adorable calves. At the end of the tour, enjoy a taste of Morning Fresh Dairy’s delicious flavored milks and creamy noosa yogurt. Pumpkins on Parade

Where? 2145 Centre Avenue, Fort Collins
When? October 23rd-26th

Join The Gardens on Spring Creek for the annual Pumpkins on Parade Halloween Celebration presented by Ace Hardware. Catch a glimpse of the glowing gourds and spooky fun that will be lighting up the evening from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM nightly. From the magic of dazzling lights, festival fall activities and family-friendly frights, there’s plenty to do for all. Children will be delighted as they explore whimsically-themed zones, take photos with larger-than-life pumpkin art and play seasonal games. There will be nightly live entertainment, as well. The earlier start time makes this the perfect option for the young ghosts and goblins that call Northern Colorado home, allowing families to celebrate Halloween before bedtime. Tickets are priced at $12 for guests ages 12 and up, $8 for children ages 5 to 11 and free for kids ages 4 and under. Grab your tickets in advance here. Members of the Gardens receive a 20% discount! Entrance gates close at 8:00 PM, so make sure to arrive before this time. 

7th Annual Halloween Carnival

Where? 100 North 5th Street, Windsor 
When? October 25th

This Halloween, celebrate at The Windsor History Museum for the 7th annual Halloween Carnival! Enjoy all of your favorite festive activities, such as trick-or-treating, inflatables and delicious bites from local food trucks. Of course, there will also be the popular Zombie Dash Fun Run for those looking to work up a sweat before they satisfy their sweet tooth. The carnival is one of Windsor’s largest community events, with up to 5,000 people in attendance each year. The carnival provides a safe space for trick-or-treating, as well as the chance to connect with local businesses and organizations. The event is free and open to all ages, with children under 16 requiring an accompanying adult. Costumes are encouraged, as are candy bags or buckets to collect your treats! Organizers are actively recruiting local businesses and orgs to pass out candy!

Halloween Trick or Trot 5K

Where? 5121 West 20th Street, Greeley 
When? October 31st

This Halloween, spend your afternoon at Aims Community College while you and the family participate in the Trick or Trot 5K! Get ready for an evening of candy galore as you work up a sweat on this spooktacular run outside of the Student Commons buildings from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Prizes will be available for the top finishers and there will also be a costume contest, so dress up to win! There will be free food, photo ops, and lots of Halloween spirit going around. The 5K is open to the community, so invite friends and family to this Greeley run. Participants will need to register and sign a participation waiver before running.

Halloween Party with High Plains Connection

Where? 850 North Saint Vrain, Estes Park
When? October 31st

The American Legion Post 119 is excited to host a Halloween Party at the end of the month! Enjoy a free concert at 6:00 PM, as well as food, a bar, and even a raffle. There will be a costume contest, so come dressed in your Halloween finest for a chance to win prizes. The event will take place from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, meaning you won’t be up past your bedtime. High Plains Connection will be playing at the Halloween bash, so enjoy a good jam with the family while you check out favorites on the tavern menu, such as loaded nachos, southwest chicken egg rolls, jalapeño popper burgers, cheese quesadillas, chicken fingers and more!
